We are opening our shop on Wednesday Feb 24th at 9am at Pontypridd indoor market we are unit 90, we are so excited, not only is there a fab Thai food stall one side and a library within 3 minutes walk, the book shop behind swaps books for books as well , today I installed my big , oak throne (based on one of Henry IIIV’s ) for quiet moments when I will actually be able to sit back with a mug of tea and read :P  , finished tweaking it up, final painting has been done, flyers passed around, posters put up and Im going to , as much as it sticks in my throat to milk it, contact the local rags, radio etc that Dragons Den contestants are opening a shop in Ponty , might as well get something out of em

Having a day off today, well, not exactly a day of but a day of playing with my nuts lol, going to make a batch of peanut butter  to get tested and if it works out we are going into the Peanut Butter world, with such delights as homemade jam swirls in peanut butter, or smoked spicy peanut butter, fingers crossed it works, the shop is coming along great, Suzie and her dad are there now tweeking things here and there so everything is on track there, well of to play with mu nuts

busy day today, at 10.30 Enviromental Health are due for my regualr bi-yearly check up, dont expect any problems lol, then off to the shop in Ponty to paint and put shelves up then back to stock making busy busy busy, just about to sip the first coffee of the day, the first of many I think

FREEZING !! we’ve both been at different markets today Suzie did Mumbles and I did Roath, its been so cold !! tonight is a PJ’s, hot chocolate, port and fried chicken night with a movie, maybe an hour or 2 on the Xbox, but no matter what we do, the heating will be on FULL  tonight lol

Ive just had a brainwave, Ive just sat down after 4 days of pickling ‘n’ relishing, Ive used about 900 jars in about a week , just as I was relaxing with a peanut butter sarnie a new range popped into my head home made peanut butter  , but ones like
Chilli Peanut Butter
Yeast Extract Peanut butter
 (streaks of a famous yeats extract )
Homemade Jam and Peanut butter (streaks of homemade strawberry jam)
I fancy giving it a try but Im going to need a recipe thats got a good shelf life, can anyone recomend one I can play with ?

feeling great today, been up since 7.30 when Suzie left for Camarthen Farmers Market smoking fresh onions and rice (they’re a bugger to light LOL), Ive decided to smoke fresh onions to sell on the stall and also Im smoking some rice that I mixed with various herbs and spices for use with currys and chillies etc, the smoker was only half full and it seemed wasteful not using all the space, Ive got to update th website today with the 4 new relish’s and sauces, though a quieter day than we’ve had in ages, just got to label nealy 600 jas and bottles in front of the telly tonight will be the best time for that I reckon. Off to check the smoker now.

been up 30 minutes and the first 2 cauldrens of the day are bubbling away merrily, I was going to have a day off relishing ‘n’ pickling but a about midnight I knocked up a small amount of BBQ sauce using the smoked toms, truly great, had to get more toms this morning to make a load up, smoking the toms first really makes a difference. Suzies over at the new shop with her dad putting up a stud wall and getting it ready for painting this week, we wan to open on March 1st St Davids Day (fingers crossed), I also aim to paint the teepee today , I didnt mention Ive bought a Teepee for the 18th century trappers demonstrations we’re doing , I can also use it as an onsite smoker for the butchering and skinning demos Im doing this year.

Still in the kitchen on my 6 cauldren of Spicy Smoked BBQ sauce, Ive used 40 kilo’s of cherry tomatoes and also managed to smoke them all, 100 eggs and half a sack of onions, tiring as it is, its very satisfying looking at the shelves groaning under the weight of so much stock that Ive managed to knock up in such a short time, I’ll be dreaming about chopping chillies, smoking toms and stiring bubbling pots lol
